Western Farm Report is an editorially independent publication. Our editorial decisions are made without influence from advertisers, sponsors, or commercial partners. This page documents the standards that govern how we source, verify, and publish content.

Independence

Western Farm Report is funded by subscribers and advertisers. Advertising relationships do not influence editorial content. We do not publish sponsored content, native advertising, or paid editorial placements. Advertisers are clearly identified as such.

Sources

Every content source used by Western Farm Report is personally evaluated before publication. We assess each source for credibility, accuracy track record, and relevance to Western Canadian agricultural producers. Sources are added incrementally and monitored over time. We do not publish from sources that do not meet our editorial standards.

Attribution

Every item published on Western Farm Report attributes its source. We summarize and synthesize factual information — we do not reproduce the original work of others. Outbound links to primary sources are included on every item so readers can verify and read further.

Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of content at the time of publication. Agricultural data — including government reports, market data, and weather information — is sourced from established institutional publishers. Where data from less reliable sources is used, we note the limitation. Corrections are published promptly when errors are identified.

AI-Assisted Content

Western Farm Report uses AI tools to summarize and synthesize information from vetted sources. AI-generated summaries are based on factual source material and are reviewed against editorial standards before publication. The use of AI does not alter our attribution requirements or accuracy standards.

Conflicts of Interest

Western Farm Report does not accept gifts, hospitality, or compensation from sources, subjects, or advertisers in exchange for editorial coverage. We do not hold financial interests in companies we cover.
